Chamber Committees

■ ADOPT A BUSINESS - (Learn more)
Chair: Bob Kramer, The Alternative Board of Monterey and Salinas

Each year, one business is selected from among the member applicants of the Business Excellence Awards to become the recipient of the free consulting services available through the Adopt-A-Business Program. Adopt-A-Business is a working committee of Chamber members who bring their professional skills to the program on a volunteer (no cost) basis.

Chair:

Strengthens retention of existing Chamber members through member education, support, encouraging program utilization and connecting members to members.


■ BUSINESS ACCELERATOR PROGRAM
Chair: Bob Kramer, The Alternative Board of Monterey and Salinas

An extensive program of classes provided by Chamber member business experts is planned for this new program, dedicated to providing education and referral resources to the business community, leading to business growth and economic expansion.

Co-Chair: Rafael Ochoa, Monterey Institute of International Studies and Fundraiser Made EZ

Form cooperative and beneficial connections between business, organizational, and education members of the Chamber.

Meets the first Monday of each month at 9:30 am at the Monterey Adult School, Room 14.

■ GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS -  (Learn more)
Chair: Kevin Stone, Monterey County Association of Realtors

Consolidates a “voice for business” throughout the Monterey Peninsula on critical issues affecting the prosperity and vitality of peninsula business and the community. Garners member support and participation to maintain the strong, on-going business advocacy program essential to business and community well-being, identifies, analyzes, develops, and communicates the “voice of business” on issues affecting the community.

Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm in the Cypress Medical Network building, 787 Munras Avenue, Monterey, California 93940.

■ MARKETING COMMITTEE
Chair:Jill Vivanco, Del Monte Shopping Center

Advises, leads and oversees membership marketing efforts. Implements strategies to create value for members. Provides committee oversight on marketing recommendations and ideas.

Meets the 4th Thursday of the month from 10:30am – 11:30am.

■ MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Chair: Bob Mulford, Vivaldi Consulting Group LLC

Meets the first Wednesday of each month from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in the Ryan Ranch Large Conference room located at 40 Lower Ragsdale Drive, Monterey.

■ SPECIAL EVENTS
Co-Chairs: Ann Appel, Appel Insurance and Kelly Violini, Monterey Fairgrounds

Develops and implements special events that best serve our membership including Annual Awards Dinner, Annual Golf Classic, Annual Business Excellence Awards Dinner, Annual Fall Business Showcase, Business-to-Business Mixers, and Membership Luncheons

Meets the last Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm.

■ SUSTAINABILITY
Chair: Rob Nicely, Carmel Building and Design

Meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 4:00 pm.

■ TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
Chair: Terry Low, Byte Technology
Co-Chair: Will Elkadi, eLab Web Services

Provides a community for local technology leaders and provides technology education to members. Works to make MPCC a leader in the use of technology and to showcase technology members.

Meets the last Friday of each month at 12:00 pm.
